Paint on glass

Materials
:

  1. Your favorite paint brushes
  2. Apple Cider Vinegar
  3. Paper towels
  4. Your choice of glassware (wine glass, shot glass, globe, etc...)
  5. bowl with water (for rinsing out your brushes
  6. Glass Paint (Delta Cream Decor Air-Dry Satin Finish Perm Enamel - for tile, glass & ceramics)
Making:

The first step is to make sure your glassware is clean and free of foreign objects. Take the vinegar and put a little on the paper towel. Wipe off your glassware with the vinegar. Allow the glass to completely dry. When the glassware is dry hand wash it under warm soapy water. This will prepare your glass for painting. You may dry your glass off and get ready to paint. Now that your glass is clean you can begin painting. Take your paint and you may begin painting the design that you want. When painting on glass you have to be patient and know that it will take several coats of paint to get the best look. Do not try to apply a lot of paint at one time. It is best to use a small amount of paint, let that dry, then apply another coat. Depending on what color you are using will depend on how many times you need to apply. Lighter colors will usually take more coats than darker colors. Using the correct brush will help make your design process a little easier. There are different types of paint brushes. A round brush works well when painting circles. A linear brush works well when painting any type of lines. When painting small dots try using a cutip! After you have finished your glass let it sit for at least 24 hours. After the 24 hours is over set your oven to 350 degrees and bake the glass for 30 minutes. This will make the paint stick. Your glass is now dishwasher safe; however, I usually still hand-wash my glasses. Hope this helps!
