Fabric Paint Dry Quickly

Materials:

  1. Fabric paint
  2. Hair dryer
  3. Iron and pressing cloth
  4. Pre-washed Fabric or clothing item

Making:

Wash and dry the fabric to remove the sizing. This will help the paint adhere to the fabric.Thin your paints with a little bit of water, and/or painting medium, so that the paint goes on the fabric more thinly. This will help lessen the drying time. A thick application of paint takes longer to dry.Use a hair dryer on low to dry wet areas. Placing the fabric out in the sun speeds the drying time. Placing the fabric in front of a fan will speed the drying time, too.Set the paint once it has dried for several days. Use an iron with a pressing cloth in-between. Press for 5 minutes, moving the iron from place to place. Do not use steam or moisture in the process. Another method of setting the paint is to turn the clothing inside out, and place in a dryer for an hour.

Fabric painting is one of my specialties, and the paint always dries faster when placed in the sun or in front of a fan. When in the wild I usually dry my clothes faster by placing them in the sun or beside a campfire.
